SHOWTIME! / Yasmine Kyd
Paris-based soul and jazz artist Yasmine Kyd and her band team up with hip hop beatmaker RedruM (Charles X, Art Melody etc) on her fourth album, the follow-up to 'Privacy Settings' (Onde Music / Ropeadope).
A blend of acoustic soul-jazz sounds with tasteful J. Dilla and Madlib-inspired beats, 'Showtime!' sees singer-songwriter Yasmine playfully experimenting with genres and moods, while lyrically exploring contemporary themes like migration ('Afwaj'), trust ('Believe'), or love in the digital age.
The first single 'Thrill' features hip hop artist Blakchyl. Enjoy!
